Stalker, Reverse Tag and a marker that shows you the way
Hosts get Stalker, Reverse Tag and a clearer game type screen, a marker points the way to your objective, and Forge's F2 can no longer lose a saved map.
Stalker (MJOLNIRLobby 0.21.0, MJOLNIRHud 0.16.0, MJOLNIRLevelLoader 0.11.0).
The first kill makes you the Stalker: invisible and fast, while everyone else
takes half damage. Kill the Stalker to take over. It's offered on every map that
has Slayer.
Reverse Tag (MJOLNIRLobby 0.21.0, MJOLNIRHud 0.16.0, MJOLNIRLevelLoader
0.11.0). The first kill makes you it. Whoever is it moves slowly and scores a
point a second, until someone kills them and takes over. It's offered on every
map that has Slayer.
A marker on the screen (MJOLNIRHud 0.16.0). A badge sits over the hill, the
next flag or the Juggernaut, with the distance under it. When the spot is out of
view, the badge moves to the edge of the screen and points the way to turn. It
takes the object's colours, pulses when a hill is contested, and fades over your
crosshair. The Stalker never gets one.
Changed
The game type screen (MJOLNIRLobby 0.21.0). Game types are now seven
families that name their variants, and the chosen family's variants are buttons
on the right, so Team King takes two clicks rather than three clicks on one tile.
SELECT names what you chose.
Map select (MJOLNIRLobby 0.21.0). The same families are tabs, and the chosen
tab opens a tray with its description and variant buttons. The screens' new
layout needs CE runtime 1.18.0, which the launcher installs with this release.
The Juggernaut hits harder (MJOLNIRLevelLoader 0.11.0). The Juggernaut now
has its extra damage and melee, half as much again as everyone else.
Less text under the score (MJOLNIRHud 0.16.0). The line now says only what
the marker can't: ON THE HILL, HILL CONTESTED, LAP 1 OF 3 / FLAG 1 OF 9. If a
marker can't be made, the old line with the distance comes back.
Forge's "SOLO HOST" label (MJOLNIRLobby 0.21.0) now reads SANDBOX.
Fixed
F2 in Forge no longer loses your save without saying so (MJOLNIRForge
0.4.2). One press used to move your saved layout to history, with nothing on
screen, and F6 then reported no saved layout. F2 now takes two presses, 0.3 to 4
seconds apart with no other Forge command between them. The first says what will
happen, and the second says where the save went.
F6 brings a reverted save back (MJOLNIRForge 0.4.2). With no active save, F6
restores the map's newest one from history, even after a restart. Objects you
placed after your last save are still lost by a revert.
Known issues
King, Oddball and Race are not on any published map yet. Their hills, balls
and flags are placed in the map, so a map offers them only once it has been
republished with them. They will arrive in map updates.
Stalker, Reverse Tag and the Juggernaut's extra damage have only been hosted on
one PC. Passing the role between players needs a second player on another PC,
and that is untested. So is the Juggernaut's marker.
The marker's contested and team colours are untested in a real match. A
second player is needed for those too.
