Forge packs: modular pieces, doors, lifts and placement controls
Forge builds with modular packs of floors, walls, ramps and roads, with automatic doors, gravity lifts, and controls for physics, grid and angle snapping.
Placement controls (MJOLNIRForge 0.4.0). F3 sets the target's physics:
Normal, Fixed (held in place) or Phased (held in place, and may overlap
other pieces while you build). F4 snaps positions to a world grid of 0.25,
0.5, 1, 2 or 4 metres. F10 sets the angle , and . turn by (90, 45, 30,
15 or 5 degrees; 22.5 with snapping off). P sets a teleporter's channel:
a sender and a receiver must match. The HUD shows these settings and the
target's properties.
Forge packs in the palette (MJOLNIRForge 0.4.0). Pieces from the
installed packs a map was built with appear under their own names. A
saved layout records the packs it uses, and loading one whose packs are
missing, or installed at a release that does not keep its pieces, is
refused instead of placing the wrong pieces.
Pack lights, glass and teleporter fields (MJOLNIRForge 0.4.0). Light
fixtures give off warm, red or blue light, glass panes are transparent
and solid, and teleporter housings show the animated green field from
Halo CE. The teleporter markers still do the travelling.
Automatic doors (MJOLNIRLobby 0.19.2). A pack's door panels open as a
player approaches and close once the doorway is clear. Saving with F5
stores a door closed, even while it stands open.
Gravity lifts (MJOLNIRLevelLoader 0.9.8). A pack's lift pieces carry
players up, each player's own game moving them.
Lighter reflections on rough surfaces (MJOLNIRLevelLoader 0.9.8). A
map can stop ray-tracing reflections on rough materials. The Forge maps
do, which took about a quarter off the GPU time of a 4K view on Crossline
with no visible difference.
Changed
Hosting waits for the main menu (MJOLNIRLobby 0.19.2). Hosting before
the title screen's sign-in has finished travelled to the map without
starting the game. It now asks you to wait for the main menu.
Fixed
A crash at the start of a second match (MJOLNIRHud 0.14.4,
MJOLNIRLobby 0.19.2, MJOLNIRForge 0.4.0). The kill feed, scoreboard, chat
and menus could crash the game after a map change, when the game had
unloaded and reloaded their screens. Those screens now stay loaded
between matches.
Quitting after a match (MJOLNIRLobby 0.19.2). The fix described in
0.42.0, for a crash when closing the game shortly after leaving a match,
missed that release; it is in this one.
Cheats (MJOLNIRBlamConsole 0.3.0): cheat_all_weapons,
cheat_all_vehicles and drop_safe work again from the console.
