The nineteen original Halo: Combat Evolved multiplayer maps, rebuilt for Halo Campaign Evolved, can now be played with your fireteam. The maps themselves come from the hub: install them from the launcher's Multiplayer page. This set holds the code that starts them and the screens you play them from.
This is an alpha. Expect rough edges, and tell us what breaks.
Added
- MJOLNIRLobby 0.1.0 adds MULTIPLAYER to the main menu. Pick a map and a game type, invite friends from your fireteam, and start. The lobby and map select are screens of our own, cooked into the game rather than painted over its menus.
- MJOLNIRLevelLoader 0.1.0 starts a converted map under the game's multiplayer rules engine, dresses it with its terrain, sky and lights, and brings friends who join into the same map and game type. It also places the CTF flags and health packs and plays the announcer.
- MJOLNIRHud 0.1.0 draws the multiplayer HUD: a kill feed with the weapon used, the respawn countdown, a scoreboard on Tab (the back button on a controller), and name tags over teammates in team games only.
Changed
- MJOLNIRConsoleEnabler 1.1.0 opens the console on the tilde key. Tab is the scoreboard now.
- MJOLNIRBridge 0.1.1, MJOLNIRMapMenu 0.1.1, MJOLNIRMultiplayer 0.2.1 and MJOLNIRWorldBuilder 0.1.1 carry small fixes from the same work.
Known issues
- Fireteams are limited to four players for now. Raising the cap is next.
- At the end of a game everyone returns to the main menu. A post-game screen with a vote for the next map is planned.
- Finding public games from inside the game is not there yet. Invite friends through your fireteam, or see live games on mjolnircore.com/games.
